API Terms of Service

These legal guidelines outline your rights, responsibilities, and how we handle your data.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Your use of the ArtifaxEvent API signifies acceptance of these Terms of Service (API ToS), which governs all access and use of the API. This agreement forms a binding legal contract between you and Artifax Software Limited (“Artifax”).

If you represent a legal entity, you confirm your authority to bind that entity. Use of the API without agreeing to these terms is strictly prohibited.

2. Definitions

  • Application: Any software or service built using the ArtifaxEvent API.

  • API Documentation: Official usage and integration documentation.

  • Approved Integrations: Artifax-authorised commercial integrations.

  • Data: Any content shared or accessed via the API.

  • Service: Artifax platforms, applications, websites, and technologies.

3. API License

You are granted a non-transferable, limited license to use the ArtifaxEvent API for development, testing, and integration purposes only, subject to all restrictions in Sections 4 and 9.

4. API Usage Restrictions

  • Do not rely on undocumented features.

  • Comply with all applicable laws.

  • Do not reverse engineer, replicate, or disrupt API functionality.

  • No malware, unauthorised data harvesting, or data resale.

  • Ads must not impersonate Artifax messaging.

  • No commercial release without Artifax approval.

  • Maintain reasonable API request volumes.

  • No adult, gambling, or restricted content.

  • Do not share API access or user data without permission.

5. Use of Brand or Marks

You must not use Artifax brands or trademarks without express written permission and adherence to brand guidelines.

6. Data Storage and Management

  • Refresh cached data every 24 hours.

  • Encrypt and protect personal data.

  • Delete data upon user request or account deactivation.

  • Remove all API data upon termination unless otherwise allowed.

7. User Agreements and Privacy

You must maintain a privacy policy that is clear, legal, and as protective as Artifax’s policies. Notify Artifax of any breaches.

9. Government Access and Use

You must not assist law enforcement or government surveillance without direct legal process served to Artifax.

10. Ownership

Artifax retains all ownership rights over the API, data, documentation, and branding.

11. Termination

Artifax may revoke your API access at any time. Upon termination, delete all data and references and cease all API use.

12. Legal Terms

  • Severability: Unenforceable provisions shall not affect others.

  • Governing Law: For North America, Texas law applies; otherwise, laws of England and Wales apply.

  • Modifications: Artifax may update this agreement at any time with notice.

  • Limitation of Liability: Maximum aggregate liability is £100.
