Why two-factor authentication matters for your ArtifaxEvent application
Keeping your data safe has never been more important. As arts and cultural organizations handle increasingly sensitive information — from contracts and financial records to staff and client details — knowing exactly who can access your system really matters.
That’s why ArtifaxEvent includes Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). It adds an extra layer of protection, helping ensure that only the right people can access your data.
What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication simply means that users must confirm their identity in two steps when logging in. In addition to their password, they’ll be asked to verify themselves using a trusted authentication app.
As a result, even if a password is compromised, your system remains protected.
Importantly, this process is designed to be secure without being disruptive. If users log in from a private computer or a familiar network, they’ll only need to re-authenticate once every 30 days. In other words, strong security doesn’t have to slow your team down.
Flexible security, controlled by you
2FA is optional, but it comes as standard. Your system administrators can choose how it’s applied:
-
Enforced for all users
-
Disabled for all users
-
Optional, allowing individuals to decide for themselves
This flexibility means you can balance security with the needs of your organization, your teams, and your workflows.
Works with the tools you already use
We know many organizations already use authentication apps across other systems. That’s why Artifax uses Twilio Verify (TOTP), which works seamlessly with popular apps such as:
-
Google Authenticator
-
Microsoft Authenticator
-
Authy
As a result, your team can continue using familiar tools without adding unnecessary complexity. Everything stays simple, consistent, and efficient.
Security built in, not bolted on
At Artifax, protecting your data isn’t an afterthought. It’s part of how we design and deliver our software. Two-factor authentication is just one of the ways we help safeguard your organization, your people, and your reputation.
