Sarah Gillett did not expect to end up working as an IT professional!
Fascinated by the intersection of art and craft, she studied Production + Design at the School of Performance, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly the Ryerson Theatre School). Post-graduation, Sarah made hats for Young People’s Theatre, built props for a children’s television show, stage managed local theatre festivals, and managed the photography studio of Canada’s leading portrait photographer. Since 2007 she has been a part of the Nuit Blanche team at the City of Toronto, helping to produce Toronto’s annual all-night celebration of contemporary art which attracts over one million attendees each year. Supporting the Six String Nation project, she has travelled to musical festivals and community events across Canada and overseas.
Prior to working directly with Artifax UK, Sarah spent over a decade using Artifax at Harbourfront Centre, an international centre for contemporary arts and culture, operating year-round on ten acres of Toronto’s beautiful downtown waterfront.
